Achensee Winter Wonderland
Thanks to its many facets, the Achensee region is not just a great destination to enjoy summer, but with its numerous cross-country skiing trails and skiing resorts an ideal choice for your winter vacation as well.
In winter, the scenery around the deep-blue lake presents itself in its fantastically beautiful, white cloak. Cross-country trails take skiers both along the lake as well as to the small side-valleys from Pertisau – the area around the Achensee impresses with more than 200 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails and is among Tyrol’s most important cross-country skiing centres.

Skiing & Snowboarding
Alpine skiers and snowboarders alike will encounter top skiing pleasures across 53 piste kilometres in no less than four skiing resorts at the Achensee. All skiing areas can easily be reached with the regional ski buses.
Touring skiers will equally come to love the Achensee’s summits and the fantastic views on offer along the varied tours around the lake that range from leisurely to difficult. One of the most beautiful tours leads up to the Bärenkopf, at an altitude of 1991m. Once you reach the summit, you are rewarded by a fantastic view across the entire Achensee.
Tobogganing-lovers will get their money’s worth as well. Five natural sled runs with lengths between 1.5 to 3.5 kilometres cover the entire spectrum, from family-friendly to fast-paced and challenging. More leisurely athletes, can use the lift in Achenkirch and/or board the Rodlexpress in Pertisau to ascent to the starting points.
A special adventure: night tobogganing: In Achenkirch this fun activity can be enjoyed every Wednesday, at the other four sled runs even throughout the entire week. The tobogganing run in Achenkirch has been recently awarded “Tyrol’s Natural Sled Run Quality Seal” by the State of Tyrol.
